Privacy
Narratic is built for newsrooms. Your sources, your drafts, and your workflow are yours. This page summarises what we collect, why, where it lives, and what rights you have.
What we collect
- Account data — email, display name, password hash.
- Workspace data — sources, topics, notebooks, comments, tasks, content drafts you and your team create.
- AI usage logs — prompts, attachments, responses, token counts and per-call cost. Used for billing transparency and debugging.
- Operational telemetry — error logs and request metadata. No third-party analytics, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar.
Why we collect it
- To run the product (auth, render your data back to you, deliver email notifications).
- To bill correctly (per-workspace AI cost accounting).
- To debug failures and fix bugs.
Where it lives
EU-only. Application servers and database run in Digital Ocean's Frankfurt region. Backups encrypted at rest. We do not transfer your data outside the EU except when calling AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) for chat features — those calls go to provider endpoints under their enterprise terms (no training on your data).
How long
Workspace data lives until you (or your workspace owner) delete it, plus a 30-day backup retention window. AI usage logs are kept for 12 months for billing reconciliation. Account data is removed within 30 days of account deletion.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict, object to, and erase your data (GDPR art. 15–22). Email hello@narratic.app and we'll respond within 30 days.
